Internal Job - Sales Representative

Job Title

This position is responsible for aggressively selling and promoting our brands, ensuring our products are properly in place for consumer purchase, and building successful business relationships with our accounts.

Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks:

• Manage sales by traveling daily to area retail stores and/or on-premise accounts.
• Must be able to rapidly analyze account needs to sell appropriate products, promotions, and merchandising materials.
• Properly sell our brands, rotate stock, review code dates and pricing parity, strategically place point of sale (POS) material, and monitor cooler and shelf position to stand out in our retail accounts.
• Make certain products in coolers, shelves, and displays are neat, organized, and consolidated.
• Move product from backroom to display floor and cold box, as needed.
• Ensure that all our products in the field are within date and out of date products are removed.
• Address issues with inventory levels.
• Set up, work, and break down special events in assigned areas.
• Represent the company well and provide exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate daily with AMs, drivers, merchandisers to build demand for our brands.
• Coordinate with area manager to identify market opportunities and successfully address obstacles.
• Report all competitive activities to management immediately.
• Maintain working knowledge of state and local regulations regarding the sale and marketing of alcoholic beverages. Communicate any issues with AM and Senior AM.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Minimum: High school degree or equivalent and a valid driver's license

Experience/Training: Ideal candidates will have sales and/or merchandising experience in the beer industry. Current employees of Comer Distributing will be given priority.

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to successfully complete a drug screening and background check.
• Must have the ability to learn and maintain knowledge of alcohol sales and distribution laws in South Carolina.
• Must have excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
• Must be willing and able to always represent Comer Distributing Company in a professional manner.
• Display exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use handheld devices, read, count, add, communicate via email, and complete reports.
• Must be able to work independently while maintaining a positive, team-player attitude.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
• Must be able to frequently lift and move product weighing on average from 25 lbs. to 170 lbs.
• Willingness to wear a uniform and work in all weather moving frequently between inside and outside.
• Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Willingness to work before, during, and after holidays.
