Saw Operator

The Saw Operator works in a fabrication shop environment, assembling conveyor systems and related components using hand and power tools, measuring equipment, and mechanical assembly techniques. This role focuses on precise cutting, accurate measurement, and reliable assembly of parts to support efficient production of conveyor systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and related cutting equipment safely and efficiently to cut materials to specified dimensions for conveyor systems.
• Assemble conveyor system components in the fabrication shop according to blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet required specifications.
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools to build and secure conveyor components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand assembly requirements and cutting measurements.
• Inspect materials and finished assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper fit before moving them to the next stage of production.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly and safely.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating saws, power tools, and other equipment in the fabrication shop.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve basic assembly or measurement issues.
• Report equipment malfunctions or material discrepancies promptly to help maintain smooth production operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gadsden, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
