Sr. Avionics Test Engineer

Salary: $137,700 - 137,700 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
• We look for experience troubleshooting and debugging hardware, or equivalent experience in computer architecture.
• We require 7+ years of experience in hardware design and validation for components, subsystems, and systems.
• We look for experience with analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design using ECAD tools.
• We require experience running test campaigns for electronic systems, including design verification, qualification, and environmental testing.
• Preferred: a masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: experience debugging hardware, or programming experience with at least one software language.
• Preferred: experience in space vehicle or satellite operations, space communications, or a related industry.
• Preferred: experience managing technical projects.
• Preferred: experience using RF measurement equipment, including power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Preferred: experience developing hardware test framework software.

• We define test method requirements for design verification and qualification campaigns.
• We develop test methods and automated test-station hardware for engineering labs and production test environments.
• We optimize manufacturing test flows for avionics systems to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and process robustness.
• We review and approve manufacturing processes and work procedures for testing avionics LRUs.
• We train production operators and improve work instructions to reduce repeat engineering support needs.
• We create, maintain, and update test-station documentation, including troubleshooting guides and work instructions.
• We improve test stability, shorten test time, and protect measurement data quality.
• We partner with manufacturing engineering to improve flow and reduce test setup and workmanship errors.
• We collaborate with quality and manufacturing engineering teams to support high-quality spaceflight hardware.
• We commission test racks for new production stations and upgrades to existing stations.
• We work with liaison engineers to troubleshoot and repair test setups.
• We develop reporting tools for manufacturing KPIs.
• We develop test solutions for qualification, design verification, and production testing of satellite avionics hardware LRUs.
• We root-cause issues affecting PCBAs, LRUs, and test systems in partnership with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• We improve yield and efficiency through process excellence.
• We support manufacturing technicians with training and co-develop and sign off on manufacturing procedures.
• We apply strong lab and test skills to deeply understand avionics subsystems and test systems.
