Schedule: Rotating shifts (day, evening, and night available); every other weekend required; flexible scheduling with advance requests considered

Requirements:

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Open heart/cardiovascular surgical experience required
• Willingness and ability to float to Emergency Department and Step Down units
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS (documentation required upon submission)
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Neurosurgical experience preferred
• Additional certifications preferred: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and execute medical orders with precision
• Delegate and oversee support staff including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
• Evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate ongoing patient education needs
• Serve as team leader ensuring appropriate patient placement and assignment delegation
• Mentor new employees and nursing students as part of the preceptorship program
• Integrate current evidence-based knowledge into daily clinical practice
