Shape strategic initiatives and workforce development.Job DescriptionRegional Director Laboratory Services OverviewThe Regional Director Laboratory Services oversees clinical laboratory operations, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency across multiple units and departments.Develops strategies for aligning laboratory services with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, fostering operational excellence and patient safety.Leads initiatives to improve laboratory processes, enhance service quality, and optimize resource utilization for cost-effective operations.Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to align laboratory operations with organizational goals and community health concerns.Provides leadership in talent development, recruitment, and performance management to maintain a highly skilled workforce.Champions innovative methodologies and technologies to advance laboratory testing capabilities and operational efficiency.Ensures compliance with CAP/CLIA accreditation standards and oversees proficiency testing and quality assurance programs.Acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, driving alignment with organizational strategies and priorities.Promotes collaboration across teams to achieve business objectives and enhance laboratory service delivery.Regional Director Laboratory Services Key Responsibilities & DutiesOversee day-to-day operations of clinical laboratories, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and adherence to quality standards.Develop and implement strategies for training, competency development, and workforce engagement across laboratory teams.Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, driving corrective and preventive actions as needed.Collaborate with public health agencies and healthcare providers to address community health concerns and testing needs.Enhance laboratory processes and methodologies to improve service quality, efficiency, and patient safety.Manage operational budgets and resource allocation to align with organizational objectives and cost optimization goals.Drive strategic initiatives for laboratory operations, quality improvement, and utilization of innovative technologies.Provide expert guidance on proficiency testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance matters.Lead cross-functional collaboration to align laboratory services with organizational strategies and priorities.Regional Director Laboratory Services Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, healthcare, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum 12 years of experience in medical technology or clinical laboratory sciences; 15 years preferred.Minimum 8 years of leadership experience in healthcare or laboratory operations.Proficiency in CAP/CLIA accreditation management and clinical laboratory bench work competency.Experience with labor management partnerships and national laboratory coordination initiatives.Technical Supervisor Certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis preferred.Strong knowledge of quality assurance, compliance management, and proficiency testing oversight.Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, operational excellence, and strategic leadership.Ability to drive innovation and align laboratory operations with organizational goals.
