Registered Dietitian

Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter, with more frequent reviews as needed for high-risk residents Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other interdisciplinary care team members Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including CMS and DOH requirements Maintain appropriate documentation Monitor residents for weekly and/or monthly weight changes to identify nutrition or hydration status changes Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care services and resident outcomes Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, document findings, and recommend corrective actions Review and approve menus semi-annually to ensure compliance with USDA guidelines Perform other tasks as assigned within scope of practice Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration Current state licensure/certification if mandated by the state Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred) Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to apply critical thinking, assess objectives, and develop, implement, and monitor effective improvement plans Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions Familiarity with state survey processes and nutrition care regulations Competency in electronic charting systems Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in conducting nutritional assessments, developing individualized nutrition care plans, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
