Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Operating Room unit
• 212 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• May float between main OR and outpatient surgery center
• Weekend requirement of at least every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
• On-call requirement, estimated 70-90 hours over a 6 week period, split evenly among staff
• Weekend/Holiday call coverage 0700-0700
• Epic EMR used, experience highly preferred
• Wide range of surgical specialties covered including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neurology, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, robotics, and more

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required, 3 years preferred
• Experience with surgical procedures as outlined in the unit's specialty list preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; OR scrubs provided
• Free parking available onsite
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Facility may call off shifts up to once per two-week pay period
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within a 50 mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
