Computer Aided Design Technician

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical CAD Technician to join our team. This role requires strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills, along with the ability to support engineering teams by revising existing electrical drawings and creating basic component drawings from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and written direction. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD , a strong drafting foundation, and a desire to grow professionally through hands-on experience and established mentorship opportunities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and revise electrical drawings and technical documentation using established client and company standards. Work with vector and raster drawing files primarily in AutoCAD and MicroStation . Apply drafting standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements before engineering review. Maintain accurate records of time spent on assigned projects. Continue developing knowledge of electrical drafting, design processes, and industry standards. Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and project teams. Complete additional responsibilities and project tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED with coursework in Drafting Technology required. Specialized CAD Certification preferred. Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design is a plus. Minimum of 1 year of relevant drafting experience . Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD required; experience with Bentley MicroStation is preferred. Strong understanding of basic CAD commands, with the ability to learn advanced commands, tools, and drafting routines. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership potential with a self-motivated attitude and eagerness to learn. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet established deadlines. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and technical guidelines. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels within a team environment. Additional Requirements Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems effectively. Ability to understand, retain, and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to organize ideas and communicate technical information clearly. Demonstrated dependability, adaptability, professionalism, and stress management skills. Ability to perform basic calculations and maintain accuracy in all work.
