Finance Operations Analyst (Hybrid - Manchester, CT)

Our Finance Operations Analyst play a critical role in managing the company’s financial health by overseeing the process of reconciling payments. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SAP and Excel to analyze detailed reporting to reconcile payments. You will collaborate closely with other team members as well as store partners to reduce loss to the company and ensure a positive customer experience.

The Finance Operations Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s financial health by leading the reconciliation and resolution of complex payment discrepancies. This role requires advanced proficiency in SAP and Excel, strong analytical and risk assessment skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment when investigating and resolving funding issues. The Analyst partners cross-functionally with internal and external partners to reduce loss, mitigate risk, and ensure both financial accuracy and a positive customer experience. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth analysis of funding variances and discrepancies, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to ensure accurate payment application. Leverage advanced Excel skills to compile, reconcile, and interpret data from multiple sources for daily and month-end reporting. Monitor and evaluate settlement jobs daily, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact financial reporting. Assess customer accounts for accuracy, identify incorrect or “bad” balances, and determine the most appropriate resolution strategies. Apply fraud detection and risk assessment techniques to review and approve orders, escalating as necessary to prevent potential loss. Collaborate cross-functionally with store leadership to resolve complex payment or funding issues. Prepare and present chargeback responses, supported by detailed documentation and evidence, to payment processors. Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls, improve reconciliation efficiency, and reduce future payment discrepancies. Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and applicable regulations in all reconciliation and reporting activities. Required: 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, finance, reconciliation, or a related field. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite Preferred Competencies and Skills: Proficiency in SAP Strong mathematical aptitude and critical thinking Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and procedures Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team Work Environment: This position is primarily home-based, offering flexibility to work from a home office. Collaboration is key, with regular virtual meetings and ongoing communication through various digital platforms (phone, email, web conferencing, etc.) This role demands a self-motivated individual who can thrive in a remote work environment while maintaining productivity and a high degree of influence and collaboration, working closely with cross-functional teams including sales, IT, and external partners. Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility and work-life balance. The candidate will be required to travel to our home office in Manchester as needed for in-person meetings and collaboration.
