Retail Security Guard

We are hiring two Retail Security Guards to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.

Location: NorthPark Mall – Davenport, IA

Pay: $16.48/hour

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule:

Position 1: Sunday-Monday, 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM; Tuesday-Wednesday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (32 Hours per Week)

Position 2: Thurs-Sat 1p-9p, Sun 11a-7p

Key Responsibilities:

Security & Patrol:

• Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity
• Control access points and manage pedestrian/vehicle traffic
• Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety procedures
• Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols
• Inspect property for safety risks (fire hazards, equipment issues, etc.)
• Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements

Customer Service:

• Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors in a professional manner
• Provide directions and support as needed
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site

Qualifications:

Required:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in emergency situations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports
• Must present a professional appearance and demeanor

• State Guard license is required.

Preferred:

• Prior security or customer-facing experience
• Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems

Additional Information:

• Duties may vary based on site needs. This role requires reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
• High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
• Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen; any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
• Minimum 3 -- 6 months prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems or access computer systems.
• State Guard license is required.
• Basic computer and report writing skills.
