Assistant Manager

Job Summary : The Assistant Manager will assist in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional judgement free member experience and a financially successful club. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing staff including Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests while ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines. Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed. Schedule and supervise staff. Oversee front desk activities: answer phones, check members into the system, process new member sign‑ups, take prospective members on tours, and facilitate all member requests, issues and questions. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. Order supplies within the specified budget based on club requirements. Track statistics and reports weekly, monthly and annually. Provide backup support for any absent employee. Qualifications / Requirements Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry. Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness. Solid supervisory, diplomatic and listening skills. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite). Hard‑working, enthusiastic and energetic. Strong problem‑resolution skills. Current CPR certification required. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
