Dining Services Aide

Job Overview Prepare and deliver healthy meals, ensuring patients receive appropriate food based on dietary plans while maintaining strict safety and health standards. Essential Responsibilities Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian. Deliver dishes, trays, and designated foods to patients at specified times and locations. Set up and clear dining areas, maintaining cleanliness and order, including dishes, trays, trash, and leftover removal. Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements, keeping prep areas clean. Adhere to cleaning schedules and perform cleanup duties as scheduled or needed. Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery. Education and Work Experience High school diploma required. Current Food Handler’s Permit mandatory; ServSafe training beneficial. Desired: 1 year of food service experience, including serving/waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation protocols, and basic food/meal prep. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effective verbal and written communication in English with residents and staff. Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices. Cordial and congenial interaction with residents. Dependable, detail‑oriented, organized with good follow‑through. Capability to work within standard policies and procedures with limited supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks and react calmly in emergencies. Patience, compassion, and consideration for residents’ comfort, safety, and belongings. Strong prioritization and time‑management skills. Maintaining a neat, orderly work area and a well‑groomed appearance in compliance with food code standards. Physical Requirements May need to lift or carry equipment or supplies up to 50 pounds. Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling/pushing, walking, and standing. May need to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel, or crouch while performing job duties. Must have adequate sight and hearing to meet job responsibilities. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $18.07 – $23.52 per hour. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Employer‑paid group term life and disability.
