Associate Attorney - Construction Litigation

Position: Associate Attorney Location: Boca Raton or Miami – Hybrid Position Overview Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 5 years of experience. The position is hybrid, working with our Florida offices. Applicants must be admitted to practice in FL. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including defense of construction litigation and general liability. Job Requirements Florida bar license in good standing. Minimum of a JD from an ABA‑approved law school. Minimum of 5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in construction defect litigation. Experience managing 15+ concurrent cases, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, court appearances, drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience a plus. Basic computer skills (Internet, spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft products). Ability to type and operate office equipment. Self‑motivated, self‑starter, can work independently, and has strong client communication skills. Oral communication: clear, persuasive speaking, active listening, and responsive in meetings. Written communication: clear and informative writing, editing for spelling and grammar, adaptable writing style, effective presentation of numerical data, and ability to read and interpret written information. Ethics: Keep client and firm information confidential and apply general rules of ethical behavior for lawyers. Job Responsibilities Willing and able to bill a minimum of _____ hours. Draft/review and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery. Attend hearings, client meetings, depositions, mediations, and trials as required.
