Senior HRBP, Member Engineering

Overview Join our team as a Sr. HRBP for Member Engineering. Our HRBPs are the frontline consultants to people managers and individual contributors, providing guidance, insights, coaching, and advice to support talent management practices within the team (onboarding, performance management, development, team health, culture). A key area of focus is to increase manager capability, enabling them to be more self‑sufficient, driving manager education on people programs, tools, and processes. Key Responsibilities Trusted Business Advisor – Use people data to identify insights aligned with business priorities, support leaders in making better decisions, and increase team effectiveness. Pressure‑test anecdotes and assumptions to shape better business decisions, making high‑quality decisions with incomplete information. Triage and connect leaders to the right talent experts while staying accountable for overall problem framing and follow‑through. Support managers in building growth conversations, talent density and keeper prompts, holding them accountable for high‑performing teams, proactively identifying gaps and proposing solutions. Guide employee relations matters (interpersonal conflict, investigations, terminations, etc.) and conduct exit interviews for critical exits, gathering insights on root causes and making recommendations. Use data to identify trends and team health issues, then help leaders cultivate team culture and talent for their dream team. Strategic Talent Partner Build deep understanding of Member Engineering’s business and translate it into clear talent priorities. Serve as a thought partner and coach to leaders at multiple levels, offering clear points of view and challenging assumptions. Org Design & Change Management Partner with leaders on org design that supports business strategy, considering structure, workflow, decision powers, and incentives. Identify misaligned roles or processes and offer practical design options with trade‑offs. Broker cross‑functional discussions and support change management for organizational shifts. Culture, Inclusion & Team Health Use Netflix culture and leadership expectations as an active decision filter for hiring, performance, promotions, and exits. Spot patterns in team dynamics and inclusion, address root causes, and select interventions to improve trust and performance. Partner with Inclusion and other talent experts to integrate inclusive practices into everyday management. Execution Excellence & One Talent Team Execute global talent programs with high quality and clear communication, coordinating with the HRBP lead and GBP teams. Align globally on strategy, minimize duplication, and clarify leadership for each initiative. Profile & Experience 7+ years as an HRBP partnering with managers on the full employment lifecycle. Strong business and HR acumen, advanced coaching and consulting skills, excellent communication, storytelling, and narrative influence. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills with a track record of driving cross‑functional initiatives. High intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and knowledge of market, industry, and talent trends including analytics and AI. Ability to navigate ambiguity and shift context across multiple leaders, teams, and priorities. Preferred Prior experience supporting engineering client groups. Experience in HR across multiple companies/organizations (start‑up, established, etc.). Location and Travel This is a hybrid role with a preference for our offices in Los Gatos or Los Angeles. Remote candidates elsewhere in the Pacific Time Zone within the US are welcome. The role requires travel to team offsites at least 1–2 times per month. Compensation The compensation structure consists of an annual salary and stock options. The salary range for this role is $260,000.00 – $530,000.00.
