Loan Assistant

Job Description The Loan Assistant is responsible for providing clerical support for commercial lending activities under direct supervision. They type, prepare, and file a variety of documents; open mail; and perform miscellaneous clerical functions as needed. The Loan Assistant provides high quality and professional service to customers at all times. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED required Experience helpful, particularly in a financial environment Basic knowledge of commercial and consumer loan services and procedures preferred Familiarity with general loan documentation helpful Accurate and attentive to detail Well organized Good typing skills Willing and able to help others Able to use a computer, adding machine, copy machine, and basic business equipment Able to get along well with coworkers Responsibilities Processes loan payments and tracks insurance on business loans May monitor disbursements on construction and development loans Types a variety of documents, records, and reports Opens, sorts, and distributes mail Obtains and conveys information as needed Coordinates functions with related departments and branches and provides support as needed Completes special projects as assigned Ensures that customers’ requests and questions are promptly resolved Maintains the bank’s professional reputation Helps other area personnel as required Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns Attends meetings as required Serves as a representative for D.L.
