HR Generalist

Your roleAs an HR Generalist, your mission is to deliver responsive, employee-focused HR support while ensuring efficient and compliant HR operations. You will partner with employees and leaders across areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and HR administration to help foster a positive workplace and support business success. This position reports to the HR Manager.Key responsibilities:Manage monthly HR reporting and prepare employee/applicant data for Affirmative Action Plan requirements.Lead full-cycle recruiting, including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, conducting phone screens, and coordinating interviews.Support recruiting process improvements through digital recruiting strategies, social media outreach, and proactive sourcing on platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn.Coordinate new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, drug screenings, onboarding documentation, I-9/E-Verify compliance, and equipment setup.Assign and maintain new hire training programs and onboarding learning paths.Administer employee offboarding processes, including termination documentation and exit interviews.Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, organizational charts, and personnel files while ensuring data integrity and compliance.Serve as a primary HR resource for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, procedures, timekeeping, and leave programs.Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company-sponsored events.Manage the Summer Internship Program, including recruitment, program development, onboarding, and coordination with educational institutions.Facilitate HR training programs and support onboarding and development initiatives for employees and leaders.Provide backup payroll support.Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.Occasional travel may be requiredThis position has no supervisory responsibility.Your skills and experience5 years of progressive HR experience is required, preferably working in an industrial company.The position requires a 4-year college or university degree with a concentration in Human Resources and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.PHR, SPHR and/or GPHR certification or equivalent is preferred, but not required.Key Competencies:Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, employee relations practices, and compensation principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, actively listen, and respond effectively to questions and feedback.Strong decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate relevant factors and clearly explain recommendations and outcomes.Ability to collaborate effectively with others in daily operations and decision-making.Professional and respectful in all interactions with employees, managers, and colleagues.Demonstrates accountability and consistently follows through on commitments.Responsive to employee needs and committed to providing timely support.High energy, adaptability, and a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.Maintains a positive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach to work.Effectively resolves conflicts and takes ownership of actions and results.Maintains confidentiality, exercises sound judgment, and remains composed under pressure.We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement.
