Floor Manager

About This JobThe Floor Manager is a hands-on leadership position responsible for keeping the restaurant running smoothly, the team supported, and our guests taken care of. You’ll lead from the floor, working alongside the team during service and stepping in wherever needed to keep things moving.This role requires someone who can see the big picture while still catching the little things: managing the flow of service, supporting and coaching staff, handling guest concerns, making smart staffing decisions, maintaining restaurant standards, and keeping the energy positive during busy shifts.We’re looking for someone who is confident, organized, dependable, and comfortable making decisions in the moment. The right person leads by example, communicates well, and understands that great restaurant management means being present and involved, not managing from the sidelines.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day restaurant operations during assigned shifts and maintain a strong presence on the floor.Support, coach, and direct FOH team members throughout service.Manage the flow of service, including floor coverage, sections, breaks, cuts, and staffing adjustments.Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and efficient service.Handle guest concerns and resolve issues quickly and professionally.Monitor food and beverage quality, ticket times, cleanliness, music, lighting, and overall restaurant atmosphere.Work closely with bartenders, servers, support staff, kitchen leadership, and other managers to keep service running smoothly.Ensure opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work responsibilities are completed properly.Enforce company policies, service standards, alcohol-service procedures, and safety expectations.Assist with training and development of new and existing team members.Complete shift paperwork, cash handling, deposits, and other manager administrative duties as assigned.Identify maintenance, staffing, or operational issues and communicate them to the appropriate leadership.Step into any position when needed to support the team and guest experience.Help create a positive, accountable workplace where employees are expected to work hard, communicate, and support one another.RequirementsPrevious restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience required; prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred.Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant operations and guest service.Confident leading a team and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to coach employees, give clear direction, and hold team members accountable.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities during a shift.Comfortable handling guest concerns and difficult situations professionally.Basic understanding of cash handling, POS systems, labor management, and restaurant financial controls.Ability to work collaboratively with both FOH and BOH teams.Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak business periods as needed.Must meet all applicable Arizona requirements for alcohol service and food handling.Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform the physical duties of an active restaurant environment.Most importantly, willing to lead from the floor, jump in when needed, and never consider any restaurant task “beneath” the manager.BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experience.Health insurance available to eligible full-time employees, with the company covering 50% of the employee-only premium.Dental and vision insurance options available.401(k) retirement plan available.Employee discounts on food and drinks.Flexible scheduling.Opportunities for advancement as Night Owl continues to grow.A fun, fast-paced work environment with a locally owned company.Equal Opportunity & Inclusion StatementNIght Owl Pizza & Drinks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
