Nurse Practitioner - Fondren Interventional Spine Management (1613)

Location: Houston, TX 77030. Salary: $130,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year. Overview The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for supporting the doctors’ work and actively facilitates patients’ recovery. The NP serves as the primary medical representative of the practice, is available for patient questions or concerns between 8-5 Monday to Friday, and assists the medical assistant as requested. The NP applies medical techniques under the direction of a physician, providing care and encouragement to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Specific Responsibilities Assess patients’ health and meet their demands as fully as possible. Post‑op: write orders in the recovery room, talk with families, visit patients, perform post‑op procedures. Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine. Inform physicians of any problems or discrepancies that might arise. Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions. Monitor patient progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events. Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures (measure blood pressure and temperature, administer injections, etc.). Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients. Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards. Monitor and guide activities of practice staff to ensure smooth patient flow. Monitor and adjust workflows to ensure timely collection of revenues for in‑office treatments and procedures. Maintain constructive working relationships with staff, physicians, patients and other contacts encountered in the course of practicing medicine or conducting business. Assist with all clinic functions including, but not limited to, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and entering charges. Qualifications Proven work experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Knowledge of medical guidelines and procedures regarding examination, therapy, and recovery, with a caring and compassionate demeanor. Familiarity with advancements in medical technology. Problem‑solving skills and ability to multi‑task. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, organization, and ability to function well under pressure. Detailed knowledge of HIPAA rules and requirements. Minimum Education and Work Experience Master of Science in Nursing degree from an approved nurse practitioner program. Current approval by the Joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts. Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
