The Administrative MA Opportunity: As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant to work within the clinical services team, supporting our providers, and providing online care and support for our patients. This desk position helps provide day-to-day clinical communication and service to patients, without hands-on medical care. There is no face-to-face interaction, rather, interfacing with them through the EMR (Athena) Patient Portal and phone calls. It requires a great deal of medical knowledge and experience, it is high volume, and the role requires proficiency with computers and EMR systems. This position offers an immense amount of support while driving excellence.

The right candidate is someone who has already worked as a hands-on or administrative Medical Assistant before and is ready to advance their medical assisting career in a demanding, fast-paced orthopedic environment. This is clerical, computer and EMR-forward healthcare administrative position, perfect for an MA who is used to work in a medical environment but would like to thrive "behind the scenes" now. There will be on-the-job training, which will set success markers and goals for learning, building trust, communicating and ultimately being the clinical support for our providers.

Responsibilities include: Timely claims processing for multiple providers, Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for all services, Heavy phone volumes, assist patients with questions, collect payments and discuss payment options, Assist providers and staff with billing questions, Patient payment data entry, Evaluate insurance requests, Perform other related tasks and duties that may develop as the job evolves.

Requirements: 1-2 years experience with hands-on medical billing and/or medical AR, Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB), Must be familiar with current coding trends, including ICD-10, Experience with MS Office and Athena EMR preferred, Must be able to help work claim denials and identify denial trends, Must have excellent customer service skills, Outstanding teamwork attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills, Must believe in a patient-centered approach to healthcare, Must have clear/concise verbal and written communication skills, Work at an efficient and fast pace, Must be self-motivated, Must be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail, Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives, Computer literacy and familiarity with the operations of basic office equipment.
