Engineering Technician

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Engineering Technician Position Type: Full-Time Contract, Contract to hire Duration: 12 months Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905 As an Engineering Technician you will: Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Essential Functions: Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations. Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction. Verify all test equipment is in calibration. Verify all licensed test software is not expired. Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures. Performs test and records required information. Document failures and reports any anomalies to key stakeholders. Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs. Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight. Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs and power supplies. May act as a mentor to lower-level peers and provide guidance on tasks. Makes recommendations for solutions on assignments requiring judgment and initiative. This Position Needs Active Secret Security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills: Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills. Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de-mating high-density connectors, RF, and optical connections. Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing. Forklift and Crane Certification/Experience Ideal candidate will have High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
