Job Title: 1st Shift - Saw Operator/Machine Operator

Job Description

The Saw Operator is responsible for efficiently operating various types of saws, including Hem Saws and Tsune Saws, in an industrial environment. The role supports warehouse material handlers by filling orders, pulling materials, and participating in general warehouse operations. A strong understanding of specialized equipment and a commitment to the highest safety standards are essential.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

• Follow order filling procedures.

• Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy of machine operations.

• Complete work orders and production sheets with necessary information such as lot number, tag number, P.O., and packaging details.

• Use chop saw to fill orders.

• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as oiling machines.

• Report any irregularities to the supervisor for further direction.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

• Wear required safety gear, including a hard hat, safety shoes, and safety glasses.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in saw operation.

• Ability to use a tape measure accurately.

• Experience with metal and material handling.

• Familiarity with chop saw operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment.

• Ability to adhere to safety standards and procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
