Location: Johnstown, PA
Pay: $19/hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Contract: August 26, 2026 – June 3, 2027
Grade Levels: K–7
We are hiring School Paraprofessionals to support students across elementary and middle school settings for the 2026–27 school year. There are opportunities supporting students in Autistic Support, Emotional Support, and Life Skills classrooms.
Candidates with a preferred grade level or classroom setting are encouraged to include that preference when applying.
Responsibilities include:
Provide individualized and classroom-based support to students
Assist students with academic, behavioral, social, and daily living needs
Support instruction and activities under the direction of classroom staff
Reinforce positive behaviors and classroom expectations
Help students develop independence and functional skills
Collaborate with teachers and other school staff
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher preferred/qualifying credential required
School or special education experience is preferred, but there is no minimum experience requirement
Must be comfortable supporting students from diverse backgrounds and working in a community with a wide range of socioeconomic circumstances
Reliable transportation required
Candidates must successfully complete required onboarding and background screening
