The Position The Equipment Operator A position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) gives you the chance to make a meaningful impact at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. Description Of Work This role supports the daily operations of the Southeastern Veterans' Center by transporting residents, materials, and supplies using a variety of vehicles and equipment. As a Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties: Vehicle Operation: Drive cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents and materials Resident Safety: Check and secure locking devices on residents and their equipment before transport Material Transport: Make local and long distance deliveries of supplies, mail, and medical items Equipment Use: Operate snow removal, hauling, and other equipment needed for maintenance work Maintenance Tasks: Complete inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning of vehicles and equipment General Support: Assist with loading, unloading, recordkeeping, and other assigned department tasks Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
