NURSING PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Job Title Nursing Program Specialist – 64060814 (Agency: Department of Health) Location 2804 Belco Drive, Orlando, FL 32808 Responsibilities The incumbent provides professional nursing services at the Bithlo Neighborhood Center for Families and at NCF locations (Taft, Union Park, Bithlo/Christmas, Englewood, Pine Hills). Key duties include: Independent case management, including assessment, counseling, and referral to ensure participants have a medical home. Basic health screenings, immunization case management, fluoride treatment, and family counseling for opt‑in students. Health education and community outreach at schools and community events (mass immunization, emergency response, wellness promotion). Vaccine storage, handling, and inventory management; data logging and reporting to Florida Shots. Home visits and health education for seniors, chronic disease management, and coordination of community health activities. Review of quarterly NCF reports, support staff training, and attendance at NCF, CCC, and OCHD meetings. Minimum Qualifications Active Registered Professional Nurse license in Florida (F.S. 464 or F.A.C. 210‑6.27) with one year of professional nursing experience. Minimum 6‑month immunization experience. Willingness to work during or beyond normal hours, including emergency duty and Saturday work (6 Saturdays per year). Basic nursing skills: vital signs, health assessment, infection control, hygiene care, wound care, and ability to refresh skills with training. Required to perform emergency duties and to maintain confidentiality of client records. Preferred Bilingual – Haitian Creole, Spanish, or other second language. Experience with FLSHOTS and HMS systems for documentation and reporting. Strong communication skills and ability to teach and train others.
