Week 1: Sun, Mon-Fri & Week 2: Mon-Thur, Sat (all shifts 3:30pm-12am) Provides person-centered behavioral health assessment, care, resources and education to clients in need of crisis services. Provides support for emergency rooms, law enforcement and other community agencies. Provides treatment planning, short term treatment, and linkage to ongoing care for clients across the lifespan; Pursue the least restrictive disposition that will meet the determined safety needs of clients. Prioritize needs of the community and demands on the crisis unit; Review and oversee development and implementation of safety plans. Documents care provided. Collaborates with internal and external colleagues. Participates in clinical and administrative meetings. Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Human Services Department. Performs in a manner consistent with the HSD Professional Standards and "Commitment to My Co-Workers." 50%- Provides person-centered behavioral health care services for clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis
10%- Conduct correctional detox, suicidal, and homicidal assessments.
5%- Ensure program and medical record compliance
3%- Participates in all clinical and administrative activities as required

The Rock County Fair and Riverfest are regional cultural celebrations held every summer in the Cities of Janesville and Beloit respectively. These Cities both have extensive park and open space networks, including portions of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, a Statewide trail commemorating the State's geologic history. Additionally, the Rock River runs through these Cities, offering many recreational opportunities.
Employees are paid every two weeks on Friday (26 checks in a year). Paychecks are directly deposited in the employee's bank account. There is a two-week delay between the pay period worked and the payday. New employees generally wait four weeks before they receive their first check, which is a live paper check. Direct deposit is a requirement of employment.

All part-time employees whose regular workweek is sixteen hours or more shall earn one sick leave day on a prorated basis directly in relation to the normal full time employment period. Rock County and the employee make equal contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System on behalf of the employer. The contribution rate is addressed in the employment letter. Employees in protective status have the percentage contributions defined in their respective collective bargaining units. Employees who have questions about their retirement benefits should contact WRS.
If additional time is required beyond the thirty-two (32) hours annually, an employee may request to use accumulated vacation, holiday, or comp-time. Sick leave can be used for a parent, spouse, or child only.
Bereavement leave cannot be accrued from one year to the next.
Bereavement leave can be used in increments of quarter hours. A second or third shift employee may be excused from work the scheduled shift before or after the event, provided the shift begins or ends on the same calendar date of the event.

- Assess clients in crisis to determine least restrictive disposition that will assure client safety
- Assess for voluntary admission options for individuals without a funding source.
- Authorize chapter 51.15 emergency detentions when appropriate.
- Coordinate admissions, when clinically indicated, to the appropriate receiving facility.
- Coordinate medical clearance if required with police, referring facility, and hospital ER staff.
- Work with individuals and natural supports to create appropriate safety plans when clinically indicated and in consultation with the crisis supervisor.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with clients
- Create person-centered crisis response plans, crisis plans and updates
- Provide individual, family, and/or group brief psychotherapy
- Coordinate client care and discharge planning as needed
- Provide linkage to psychiatry and other services or resources as indicated
- Assess for and facilitate detox admission under 51.45
- Provide pre-admission and post-discharge suicidal assessments for detox clients.
- Coordinate referrals to county AODA specialist.
- Collaborate with security or psych tech staff for transport to and from detox facilities.
- Document recommendation for treatment by detox providers.
10%- Conduct correctional detox, suicidal, and homicidal assessments.
- Provide crisis services at the Rock County Jail
- Provide crisis intervention services at the Youth services Center
- Coordinate the admission process when a detox or psychiatric hospitalization is clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with Sheriff Office and YSC staff for crisis planning to maintain safety and inmate/youth behavioral management.
- Provide back up work for court related services when needed
5%- Ensure program and medical record compliance
- Follow all departmental as well as divisional policies and procedures
- Provides unit oversight to scheduled welfare checks and safety plan process
- Document client care in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
3%- Participates in all clinical and administrative activities as required
- Participate in case review meetings
- Participates in crisis planning meetings

- Participate in meetings with supervisor as needed
Success Factors (KSA's)
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of behavioral health care and its application, including person-centered crisis plans, trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and stages of change.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to federal and state human service and behavioral health care programs
- Knowledge of assessment and treatment of suicide, mental illness and substance use disorders
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications, their main effects, side effects, and abuse potential.
- Knowledge of psycho-social rehabilitation services
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear and concise reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the agency and community.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and seek out supervision as needed

- Masters degree in behavioral health field required;
- LCSW, LMFT, or LPC preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain licensure within 3 years;
- Substance abuse credential preferred or ability and willingness to obtain certification;
- Experience working with clients with complex functional and mental health impairments;
- Must possess and maintain a current unrestricted (not due to corrective lenses) driver's license and auto insurance pursuant to the Rock County Administrative Policy and Procedure 5.02 and 5.27.
