Senior, Grants and Contracts Specialist, OSPH

Job Summary Works under minimal supervision to provide administrative support to researchers by identifying funding opportunities, assisting with preparation and processing of proposals, negotiating contracts, receiving awards, and assisting in administration. Location Dallas, TX – Hybrid Responsibilities Gather and provide information regarding funding opportunities and application procedures by reviewing newsletters, announcements, directories, and other relevant resources. Guide researchers for proposal development and submission by interpreting and ensuring adherence to sponsor and university guidelines. Provide grants management support, including negotiation and processing of awards, interpretation of award conditions, approval of modifications, and completion of required reports. Negotiate contracts with state and federal agencies, private organizations, pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies to achieve mutually satisfactory agreements. Draft various types of contracts in accordance with state laws and Board of Regents guidelines. Supervise Grants and Contracts Specialists and related administrative positions. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. Four years of experience in business or public administration with an emphasis on customer service in a financial or contracting position. Applicants without the stated degree but with significant additional professional experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement. Preferred Certified Research Administrator (CRA) upon hire.
