Azure IaaS Engineer

Salary: $98,500 - 206,800 per year Requirements:

• Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD); active EOD preferred
• Bachelors degree and 8 years of applicable experience
• At least 5 years of relevant Microsoft Azure IaaS engineering and support experience
• ITIL Foundation certification, which is expected within the first six months if not held at the start
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server operating systems deployed in Azure, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS
• Strong scripting and PowerShell skills
• Experience building, configuring, and hardening Windows servers
• Experience managing the Azure platform using Intune
• Advanced Azure Active Directory management and administration experience
• Desired: ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification
• Desired: Previous DHS or Department of Defense experience
• Desired: Hands-on Microsoft Windows administrator certifications
• Desired: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification
• Desired: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
• Desired: Experience with Azure Cloud, scripting, and automation

• Assess, engineer, implement, and modernize Windows and Azure systems in a distributed enterprise network environment
• Validate system requirements and recommend approaches for transitioning from the DHS network to an agency-owned and managed network
• Support the Project Manager with presentations and reports, and prepare and present plans and changes to the Technical Review Board
• Contribute to Knowledge Base documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and job aids
• Help manage risks to minimize project exposure
• Lead meetings with customers and partners to understand business needs
• Participate in project planning and develop project documents that identify risks and dependencies
• Implement Azure infrastructure solutions and provide oversight and leadership for workstreams across domains as needed
• Manage escalations, assess situations, and coordinate resources to resolve issues in line with delivery practices, cost considerations, and stakeholder needs
• Provide operational support and service delivery for managed enterprise services, advancing initiatives that improve service availability and performance and resolving complex incidents
