Responsibilities include applying nursing principles, maintaining age- and population-specific standards, performing testing to evaluate resident status, recognizing problems, and responding to emergent situations. Ensures health, comfort, and safety of residents; administers medications or treatments as ordered; documents resident interactions and outcomes; and supports an interdisciplinary care team. Skills include establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public; clear communication and confidentiality; and counseling residents, families, and/or advocates on prevention and treatment plans. Knowledge of resident education principles to develop self-care programs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. If required by position and state, IV therapy/management skills may require specific coursework or program completion as applicable by North Dakota requirements per Board guidance. Current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with state nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEUs) and competency training for the department and facility. Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
