This is a full-time, entry level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory. Candidates with outdoor, retail or driving experience preferred. Essential Job Functions:
- Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption meters
- Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections
- Polite and professional interactions with the public and clients
- Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
- Previous experience working outside
- Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each day
- Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas.
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
