Instructional Assistant - Silverton, Oregon

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact working 1:1 with elementary students in a supportive educational setting. A contract assignment is available for an experienced Paraprofessional to provide direct behavioral assistance to students in an elementary program, fostering learning and growth throughout the school year.

Assignment Overview:

Serve as a dedicated Behavior Paraprofessional for an elementary program from August 24, 2026, to June 8, 2027, for a total of 187 contract days.
Support and reinforce positive student behaviors in collaboration with teachers and special education staff.
Contribute to a caring educational environment near Silverton, OR, with your skills and compassion.

Desired Background:

Previous experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting, preferably working with elementary-aged children.
Understanding of individualized behavior management strategies and experience working 1:1 with students who require additional support.
Familiarity with implementing classroom routines and academic modifications under the guidance of certified teachers.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team mindset.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold student privacy at all times.
Patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized behavioral and academic support to a designated student throughout the school day.
Implement strategies recommended by the instructional and behavioral team.
Collect and record data on student progress and behavior, reporting observations to appropriate staff.
Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and supervision as needed.
Help nurture social, emotional, and academic growth in an inclusive classroom environment.
