Executive Director, National Sales Leader, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)

Merck seeks an experienced sales leader to direct the national field sales organization for its Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension business. This executive will develop commercial strategy, lead a specialized sales team, manage operations, and drive growth in the rare disease market.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute national business plans aligned with brand strategy and market insights
Translate corporate strategies into operational objectives, KPIs, and field execution plans
Lead, recruit, develop, and optimize a high-performing specialty sales organization
Establish performance standards, conduct reviews, and provide coaching and succession planning
Partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical, and Sales Operations on integrated commercial strategies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field
10–12 years combined pharmaceutical/biotech sales, sales leadership, and commercial strategy experience
At least 5 years leading national or regional sales teams
Strong knowledge of US healthcare dynamics, providers, IDNs, specialty pharmacies, and reimbursement
Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams
Strategic agility, business acumen, and cross-functional partnership skills
