Field Applications Scientist providing technical expertise and customer support for forensic DNA products across Western North America. Responsibilities include delivering training, troubleshooting workflows, supporting pre-sales activities, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize customer implementation of HID technologies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver customer training on HID products, applications, and workflows via on-site and remote sessions
- Provide technical support including troubleshooting workflows, inquiries, and performance issues
- Support pre-sales activities through technical consultation, demonstrations, and customer workflow discussions
- Enable post-sales adoption and optimization of HID technologies for successful implementation
- Document customer activities and provide field feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in forensic science, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related discipline
- 5+ years forensic DNA workflow experience or 3+ years with advanced degree, including hands-on lab work
- Demonstrated expertise with forensic DNA instrumentation, chemistries, and analysis software
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex scientific challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for diverse audiences
- Customer-facing, presentation, and training proficiency
- Ability to travel up to 70% and reside in California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, or Nevada
Compensation: $75,800–$101,050 base
