Job Summary

Behavioral Therapy Specialist details

• On-site at Harold W. Jordan Habilitation Center, Nashville, TN
• 3 x 12.5-hour shifts per week rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• 37.5 hours per week standard; overtime available
• 6-month contract, renewable 07/01/2026 through 12/31/2026

Behavioral Therapy Specialist duties

• Follow individual support plans to ensure the needs and active treatment requirements of persons served are met
• Communicate with families, conservators, and employers of persons served to share information and meet active treatment requirements
• Analyze medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities
• Analyze environmental data to ensure safety and an appropriate environment for persons served
• Train other staff on active treatment interventions to meet the requirements of individual support plans
• Promote teamwork and a collaborative care environment

Behavioral Therapy Specialist qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required must be verified prior to start
• One year of full-time experience in teaching, sales/marketing, or providing services for individuals with disabilities preferred
• Substitution allowed: 9+ quarter hours of college coursework in education, social/behavioral science, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health/human services
• Experience with ADLs and working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and handle difficult personalities required
• BLS preferred but not required
• Valid drivers license required
• Must be a current Tennessee resident or willing to relocate prior to start
