Director of Engineering

You can write Java that works or GraphQL that lasts; our Director of Engineering role at Boeing is for engineers who insist on both. The structure is built for growth: $238,000 - $351,000 now, technology ownership soon, and a Boeing ladder that keeps adding rungs.

Key Responsibilities

• Reproduce the nimble bug from the Los Angeles field report, then make it impossible again
• Ship C# experiments fast, kill the losers, and double down on what sticks
• Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability
• Translate deeply-curious business requirements into technical specifications and tasks
• Reverse-engineer the slow-to-anger Ansible format Boeing inherited and never documented
• Support migration of on-premise services to cloud-native architecture

What You'll Bring

• Calm under the autonomy-rich chaos a director role tends to generate
• 10+ years owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
• Around 10+ years of hands-on experience in a technology role
• The humility to revise strong opinions when the data argues back
• Strong working knowledge of Java and Active Listening
• Confident communicator across email, calls, and in-person meetings
• Cross-functional ease, from Agile engineers to Presentation Skills marketers

Boeing has made Los Angeles, CA synonymous with joyfully-rigorous, dependable technology work that outlasts the hype cycles. Mentorship goes both ways at Boeing, and seniority never means having all the answers.

Here is the deal: $238,000 - $351,000, a mentor who answers, benefits that hold up, and a flexible remote schedule that fits real life.
