Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Experience 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months. 3 months of travel experience required. Experience with Cerner required. Trauma Level 2 experience preferred. Requirements Candidates must have a license (required for submission). This role will require floating to multiple units. Local & travel allowed. Candidates living 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health. Additional Details References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM. Required Skills/Experience 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU. Be familiar with Drager and Servo ventilators. Required vent: Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, Servo U. Skills required for success: Airway Management Devices/Suctioning, Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex, Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered dose inhaler, Nebulizer, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Trach collar, BiPAP, CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation, Assist in high risk delivery, Umbilical blood gases, Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, Servo U, Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs. Preferred Skills/Experience ED experience preferred. Bronchoscopy, Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), and Theophylline preferred. Unit Details Traveler will be doing the following: Airway Management Devices/Suctioning: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy/suctioning, ABG interpretation. Neonatal, infant, adult, and geriatric patient population. Shift & Scheduling No on-call requirement. Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected. Floating Requirements Float between Adult and NICU units. Maximum Time Off 7 days maximum time off. References 2 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months.
