Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tools and equipment. Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards. Supervise, train, and mentor a team of toolmakers and technicians. Maintain accurate inventory records and procure new tools as needed. Collaborate with production teams to optimize tool performance and availability. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for tooling. Recommended Qualifications 5+ years experience in a tool room environment 2+ years experience in a supervisory or lead role Proficient in operating and maintaining various machine shop equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) Strong understanding of tooling design, fabrication, and repair processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex tooling issues Bonus Qualifications Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and fabrication. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Background in advanced machining techniques (e.g., EDM, CNC multi-axis). Strong project management skills with a track record of on-time, on-budget project delivery. Ability to train and mentor junior toolmakers.
