Accounting Intern

SUMMARY An Accounting Intern supports the finance or accounting department by assisting with basic accounting tasks, data entry, and financial record keeping. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting principles, financial reporting, and business operation. ~20 hours p week ESSESTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, reports, and statements Perform data entry for invoices, expenses, and transactions Help reconcile bank statements and company accounts Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Assist with auditing and reviewing financial documents for accuracy Organize and file financial documents (physical and digital) Help prepare tax documents and compliance reports Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes Conduct basic financial analysis and reporting Perform administrative duties as needed by the accounting team QUALIFICATIONS Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Prior internship or coursework related to accounting Familiarity with financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS) Experience with data analysis tools EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
