Financial Clearance Specialist

Working remotely, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services, manage patient financial liabilities, and facilitate insurance communications to ensure smooth access to care. Key responsibilities Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding payments Processes patient payments and ensures necessary pre-certification authorizations are in place Required qualifications Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., with a business concentration preferred Four plus years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required Associate degree or higher is preferred Knowledge of third-party collections and reimbursement is a plus
