AP Assistant

About the Organization: Our client is a well-established non-profit with strong ties to the local community. They're seeking a detail-oriented AP Assistant who thrives in a dynamic environment. Opportunity: AP Assistant Hours Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm Compensation $26/hr Location Bethel, CT (hybrid schedule upon being fully trained) Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain positive vendor relationships Negotiate payment schedules and communicate with vendors via phone and email regarding account status in Great Plains A/P system Ensure current W-9 forms are on file for all active vendors; prepare annual 1099 forms and W3 transmittals for IRS submission Review and verify the accuracy of all computer-generated reports, including checks, distribution reports, and General Ledger reconciliations Oversee petty cash administration Maintain strict confidentiality of accounts payable records, limiting access to authorized personnel only Support external auditors with reporting and inquiries related to accounts payable Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred At least a year of accounting support experience Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ideally pivot tables and VLOOKUPs Previous accounts payable experience required #J-18808-Ljbffr
