Soft Craft Specialist

The Soft Craft Specialist reports to the Lead Planner/Coordinator and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all soft craft activities within an assigned project area throughout the turnaround or project lifecycle. This role serves as the primary liaison between Operations, Maintenance, contractors, and the turnaround team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule .Key Responsibilitie s Planning Pha seConduct field walkdowns to verify project scope, materials, and work requirement s.Photograph equipment and job sites and develop detailed work packages using the planning too l.Plan and estimate soft craft activities, including painting, insulation, scaffolding, and related wor k.Verify paint and insulation specifications for assigned job s.Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to arrange scaffold installation or insulation removal needed for field verificatio n.Review contractor quotations for accuracy and validate proposed scop e.Partner with the scheduler to develop job logic, sequencing, and execution plan s. Execution Ph aseServe as the Area Coordinator during project executi on.Coordinate and oversee all soft craft contractors working within the assigned ar ea.Monitor contractor progress and ensure work status is accurately reflected in daily reporti ng.Partner with the scheduler to track productivity and maintain schedule adheren ce.Ensure contractors comply with all site safety requirements and company polici es.Monitor contractor staffing levels to ensure resources align with worklo ad.Coordinate with Inspection to identify additional or discovery wo rk.Complete Additional Work Requests (AWRs), delay documentation, and other required repor ts.Participate in daily turnover and rollover meetings and provide status updates on assigned wo rk. Ongoing Responsibili tiesMaintain a safe and organized work environm ent.Continuously evaluate turnaround planning and execution practices and recommend process improveme nts.Support maintenance activities and capital projects as assig ned.Perform other duties as required to support turnaround and maintenance operati ons. Qualifica tionsMinimum of 5 years of industrial experience in soft crafts, maintenance, turnaround planning, field coordination, or a related discipline within the energy, refining, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing indu stry.Experience coordinating contractors and field activities during turnarounds or maintenance events prefe rred.Strong understanding of scaffolding, insulation, painting, and other soft craft discipl ines.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, technical manuals, and safety proced ures.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving sk ills.Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and E xcel.Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination sk ills.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced industrial environ ment.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving re cord. Physical Requir ementsWork both indoors and outdoors around industrial process equipment in varying weather condi tions.Climb ladders and work at elevated heights as req uired.Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials and equi pment.Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and move or transport loads up to 75 p ounds.Apply up to 100 ft-lbs. of torque using hand tools and equi pment.Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including emergency breathing apparatus when nece ssary.Respond to visual and audible alarms and safely navigate active industrial work environ ments.Ability to work overtime, respond to call-outs, and travel domestically as n eeded.Must reside or be willing to relocate within one hour of the assigned reporting loc #J-18808-Ljbffr PTS Advance
