Job Title Budget and Financial Systems Analyst, Business Affairs Role Overview At the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the analyst provides analytical and technical support for budgeting and financial planning systems, conducts financial analyses, designs processes, performs system administration for Adaptive Planning and Workday, and advises on budget planning and reconciliation practices. The analyst prepares and reviews annual and multi‑year budgets, performs trend and variance analyses, models, and identifies process improvements to align resource allocations with institutional priorities. Responsibilities Analyze and support budgeting and financial planning systems. Perform financial analyses, including trend assessment, variance analysis, and modeling. Design and implement process improvements using emerging analytical and AI tools. Administer and maintain Adaptive Planning and Workday systems. Provide strategic and operational support to academic and administrative leaders. Ensure compliance with institutional and NSHE policies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. 1–3 years professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or systems administration, preferably in higher education or the public sector. Advanced knowledge of budgeting principles and financial modeling. Expertise with Workday, Adaptive Planning, or similar platforms. Strong analytical, communication, and data visualization skills. Proficiency with Excel, Workday, and data analysis tools. Ability to work independently under broad direction, exercising judgment and initiative.
