Service Foreman

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Main Service Foreman is to control the quality of each Service Technician's workmanship and improve their efficiency. Also communicate with customers about repairs both coming in and ongoing. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Communicates capacity status throughout the day with Service Manager and Parts department. 
2. Greet customers, identify their needs and assign the work to Service Technicians based upon their skill level and the time-of-completion. 
3. Personally performs quality control checks of workmanship on each service project. 
4. Coordinates communication between Service Manager and Service Technician regarding recommended services, changes in repairs, costs, and time-of-completion. 
5. Work with Service Manager in monitoring efficiency on each Technician. 
6. Identify technician needs to help improve their skill level and work performance through better supervision, work assignment, and training. 
7. Assists the Service Manager in the performance of his duties. 
8. Monday - Friday; 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
High School diploma or the equivalent
Two years of experience as a heavy duty truck repair technician
Working knowledge of all heavy duty truck repair methods
One year supervisory experience preferred but not required
Exhibits good communication and self-management skills
Valid Commercial Driver's License and good driving record
Professional personal appearance

WORKING CONDITIONS

Part of this position is physically demanding. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must climb in and out of customer's vehicles to record information. The other part of this position will require desk work, including the use of computer video monitor, telephone, ten-key calculator, and completing paperwork. Must wear dealership uniform.
