Own the Build: Progressive Die Toolmaker (Project Lead)

Step into a hands-on role where you guide tooling projects from kickoff through completion. Your day starts at a pre-build huddle, mapping out an efficient path to manufacture. You’ll assemble precision tooling, check every machined component against the print, and jump on the machines yourself to hit tight tolerances. As the project lead, you’ll balance quality, delivery dates, and mentoring apprentices—keeping the work moving and the standards high.

• Join pre-build planning to design an efficient manufacturing approach.
• Assemble tooling and validate parts against specifications and drawings.
• Machine components using standard methods to exacting tolerances.
• Manage assigned tooling projects to meet customer quality and delivery commitments.
• Build out complete tools by fitting and assembling all components.
• Set up and operate shop equipment required to manufacture components.
• Coach and develop apprentices on best practices and craftsmanship.

• Core Skills: Advanced math ability, basic computer literacy, blueprint/technical drawing fluency, and clear communication.
• Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of a state‑indentured Tool & Die apprenticeship OR 6 years as a non‑indentured Tool & Die Maker.
• Experience: 3–5 years building progressive tooling (metal stamping experience preferred).
• Certification: Journeyman Card in Tool & Die.

• Progressive die metal stamping and forming.
• Tool, die, and mold repair and troubleshooting.
