InventHelp | Pittsburgh, PA | Hybrid

InventHelp is looking for motivated, curious, and competitive sales professionals to join our team as Innovation Consultants.

Since 1984, InventHelp has worked with independent inventors as they pursue their ideas. As an Innovation Consultant, you'll speak directly with people who have created new product ideas and are trying to determine what to do next.

One conversation might be about a kitchen product. The next could involve a tool, automotive accessory, pet product, piece of sporting equipment, or an entirely new solution to an everyday problem.

No two conversations are exactly the same.

This is a consultative sales role for someone who enjoys talking with people, asking good questions, building relationships, solving problems, and closing business.

What You'll Do

As an Innovation Consultant, you'll work directly with prospective inventor clients to:

• Learn about their invention, goals, and where they are in their journey

• Conduct structured discovery conversations to better understand each prospective client's needs

• Ask thoughtful questions and identify what motivated someone to take action on their idea

• Clearly and professionally explain InventHelp's available services

• Conduct scheduled phone and virtual presentations

• Help qualified prospective clients determine an appropriate next step

• Follow up with prospective clients and re-engage missed appointments

• Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline

• Maintain accurate information and activity within our CRM

• Participate in sales training, coaching, call reviews, and role-playing

• Develop your knowledge of InventHelp's services and the invention industry

• Work toward clearly defined activity, production, and professional-development goals

You don't need to be an expert on inventions when you start.

We'll teach you our services, processes, systems, and sales approach. We're looking for someone who brings strong communication skills, curiosity, coachability, competitiveness, resilience, and a genuine desire to improve.

Consultative Selling

Our approach begins with understanding the person behind the idea.

Successful Innovation Consultants don't immediately jump into a presentation. They listen. They ask questions. They learn what someone is trying to accomplish and why they've decided to pursue their idea now.

From there, the consultant's responsibility is to clearly explain the services InventHelp offers, answer questions, address concerns, and confidently ask for the business when there is a fit.

We're looking for sales professionals who can combine empathy and curiosity with confidence and the ability to close.

Career Growth

We believe strong performance should create additional opportunity.

InventHelp offers opportunities for career advancement within the Sales Department based on productivity, production, demonstrated sales proficiency, consistency, professional development, and leadership ability.

As you develop your skills and demonstrate consistent performance, opportunities may become available to take on greater sales responsibility, work with clients through additional stages of their relationship with InventHelp, participate in advanced sales development, and pursue future leadership opportunities within the department.

Advancement is based on performance and demonstrated readiness rather than simply time in the position.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you are:

• Competitive and self-motivated

• Coachable and interested in continuously improving

• A strong listener and communicator

• Naturally curious about people and their ideas

• Comfortable asking thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions

• Confident discussing price and asking for the sale

• Organized and disciplined with follow-up

• Resilient when you hear "no"

• Comfortable being measured against clear goals and expectations

• Able to communicate effectively with people from many different backgrounds

• Interested in products, inventions, innovation, and entrepreneurship

Previous consultative, inside, telephone, financial, automotive, insurance, home-improvement, or other relationship-driven sales experience can be valuable.

More importantly, we're looking for people who can listen, learn, communicate, compete, and close.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

New Innovation Consultants begin with an in-office training and development period where they'll learn InventHelp's services, systems, sales process, and expectations while receiving hands-on coaching from experienced members of the team.

As consultants become sufficiently trained, comfortable in the position, and consistently productive, they may become eligible for additional work-from-home flexibility.

Why InventHelp?

Inventors are problem solvers.

Behind every idea is someone who saw something that could be improved, experienced a frustration, or simply thought, "There has to be a better way."

Your job isn't to predict whether an invention will succeed.

Your job is to understand the inventor, understand what they're trying to accomplish, clearly explain the services available to them, and help them determine whether taking the next step with InventHelp is right for them. xhyhwjd

If you're looking for a sales career where the conversations are different, performance matters, and continued development can lead to additional opportunities within the organization, we'd like to talk with you.
