In-House Counsel - Life Insurance

Location: Hartford, CT

An established financial services organization is seeking an In-House Counsel to support its legal team across insurance claims, litigation, product and regulatory matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with life insurance industry experience to join a growing business, work closely with cross-functional teams, and develop their in-house legal career.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support insurance claims disputes, litigation, and pre-litigation matters.
Coordinate outside counsel and assist with litigation strategy.
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, discovery, and regulatory responses.
Advise on insurance law, regulatory developments, fraud, and policyholder disputes.
Partner with compliance, product, and business teams to mitigate legal risk.

Requirements

JD
3 years of practical life insurance industry experience, in-house or private practice.
