Registered Nurse Post-Op Cardiac ICU

A 20-bed post-operative cardiothoracic ICU specializing in the care of patients directly following cardiac surgery. The unit is supported by intensivist coverage 24/7, along with residents to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Role Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips including sedation and vasoactive medications
• Perform chest tube and line removal
• Facilitate patient mobilization and daily weight assessments
• Provide comprehensive care for a diverse range of patients including CABG, valve replacements, Ross procedures, thoracic surgeries, aortic dissections, and various ICU patients
• Utilize advanced medical devices such as CRRT, Tablo, Aquadex, Impella, IABP, Heart Mate III, external VAD, and ECMO

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing, with experience in managing patients post-cardiac surgery and a familiarity with the use of cardiac support devices. Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
