Job Summary

The healthcare organization is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week assignment located in Anchorage, Alaska. This position involves working the night shift, with a focus on sterile processing and equipment sterilization within an acute hospital setting. The role supports the hospitals efforts to ensure the safety and readiness of surgical and procedural instruments and supplies.

Job Details

• Shift Schedule: Nights, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, NBSTSA, CSPDT), high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience preferred, valid state license (pending license accepted), and able to work rotating weekends. Candidates accepting first-time assignments are welcome.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in orthopedics, neurology, robotics, and charting systems (preferably Epic)
• Open to accommodating block schedules: Yes
• Float: No, candidates will not float outside scope to meet facility needs
• Additional Information: This role requires working in an acute hospital environment with a focus on instrument decontamination, sterilization procedures, tray and set assembly, and handling specialized equipment such as washers/sterilizers, endoscopes, and robotic surgical instruments. Candidates must be willing to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
• Travel Requirements: No travel experience required. Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility address to meet radius rule. References covering at least one year (or six months for CNAs) within the last three years are required.
• Schedule: 8-hour night shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026.
• Additional notes: Candidates will be scheduled for weekend coverage rotating through shifts, with time off approved on an individual basis. All certifications and charting experience (particularly Epic) must be provided before assignment start.
