Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor oversees clinical operations and service delivery within an OASAS Part 820 treatment program, ensuring high standards of care through the implementation of evidence-based practices. This role conducts regular case reviews, provides mentorship, facilitates staff training, and supports ongoing professional development for clinical staff. The Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in program development and evaluation to enhance service delivery and client outcomes, and collaborates closely with leadership to meet strategic goals. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor assists the Program Director in managing day-to-day site operations and ensuring that program objectives are clearly defined and program goals are consistently achieved.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of the treatment program, including intake assessment, service planning, clinical interventions and services, and discharge planning.
• Ensure high standards of clinical care by implementing and reinforcing evidence-based practices across all aspects of service delivery.
• Conduct regular case reviews to monitor client progress, support clinical decision-making, and promote quality outcomes.
• Schedule, provide, and document direct individual and group clinical supervision for clinic staff, with supervision frequency determined by best practices, clinical competencies, and staff needs.
• Offer ongoing mentorship to clinical staff to support professional growth, strengthen clinical skills, and enhance overall performance.
• Provide relevant clinical trainings to staff, such as integrated treatment, motivational interviewing, and collaborative documentation, and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
• Train new staff on the use of the electronic health record (EHR) in alignment with standardized clinical workflows and billing processes.
• Train and supervise staff on effective clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Assist the Program Director in interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, evaluating, and, when necessary, disciplining or terminating subordinate staff.
• Support program development and evaluation efforts to improve service delivery, strengthen clinical programming, and enhance client outcomes.
• Collaborate with leadership to align clinical operations with strategic goals and ensure that program objectives are clearly communicated and achieved.
• Maintain strong relationship management with staff and stakeholders to support a collaborative and client-centered treatment environment.
• Apply sound administrative practices to support efficient clinic operations and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills in working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Provide high-quality customer service to clients and families, responding to needs with professionalism, compassion, and respect.

Essential Skills

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent clinical degree.
• Current NYS LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or equivalent clinical license is required.
• CASAC Master or Advanced Counselor credential is required.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory and administrative experience in a clinical setting.
• Proven experience in management within substance use disorder (SUD) recovery or a closely related field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop clinical staff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clinical and administrative priorities effectively.
• Adept at working in an electronic health record (EHR) system, including documentation and billing workflows.
• Completion of the 30-hour Clinical Supervision Foundations training.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leadership.
• Administrative skills to support clinical operations and program management.
• Commitment to compassionate, client-centered care and dedication to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
• Customer service orientation with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience providing individual and group clinical supervision to a diverse team of clinicians.
• Experience delivering staff trainings in integrated treatment, motivational interviewing, and collaborative documentation.
• Experience with program development and evaluation in behavioral health or SUD treatment settings.
• Ability to interpret and apply best practices in clinical supervision based on staff competencies and needs.
• Skill in interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, and staff development.
• Ability to effectively address performance issues and participate in disciplinary processes when necessary.
• Strong relationship management skills to foster a positive, collaborative work culture.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in clinical and administrative decision-making.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in a clinical treatment setting operating during typical day shift hours. Standard schedules run Monday through Friday, generally from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The environment is team-oriented and client-focused, with regular collaboration among clinical and administrative staff. Work is performed using an electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation and billing, and staff participate in ongoing trainings to maintain high standards of care and compliance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
