Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times in full accordance with State and Federal Health Regulations.*Native American hiring preference for qualified candidates.Essential FunctionsSeason and cook food according to recipesCook in bulk while minimizing wasteWeigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipmentRegulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and deep fryersVerify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantityPrepares and serves food using appropriate dishwareResponsible for the seasoning, freshness, and cooking status of all foods during the shiftEnsure that all food is properly covered, dated, and rotatedDeep clean and sanitize all kitchen equipmentIs aware of and practices sanitation policies and regulationsPerform miscellaneous duties as assignedMust follow all safety rules and regulationsFollow all general and department policies and proceduresSetup, operate and tear down off-site eventsOrganize, clean, and maintain catering equipment and storage areasQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredOne (1) year experience in institutional food preparation including broiler, sauté, fryerThorough knowledge of all institutional kitchen equipmentAbility to read, use and create recipesKnowledge of proper preparation techniqueAbility to memorize certain recipes to ensure consistencyMust possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team membersStrong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skillsStrong attention to detail, and a commitment to qualityHighly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive mannerAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividingJoin the 7 Cedars Team!
