The ideal candidate will be a player-coach who can manage a team while remaining actively involved in payroll processing, compliance, audits, and system optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce of approximately 2,000 employeesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsManage payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime, commissions, bonuses, and garnishmentsOversee payroll audits, reporting, controls, and year-end processingDrive payroll automation and process improvements within Paylocity and HRIS platformsReduce manual processes and improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalabilityOversee benefits administration, including 401(k), FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, and employee benefit programsPartner with HR, Finance, and Operations leadership to support business growthLead, mentor, and develop payroll team membersQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field8+ years of progressive payroll leadership experienceExtensive multi-state payroll and payroll tax compliance experience (Colorado experience highly preferred)Experience supporting organizations with 2,000+ employeesStrong understanding of FLSA, payroll tax regulations, ACA, ERISA, FMLA, and ADAExperience with Paylocity or comparable payroll/HRIS systemsProven success improving payroll processes through automation and technology401(k) administration experience requiredCPP certification preferredWhy This Role?High-impact leadership positionOpportunity to modernize and scale payroll operationsVisible role partnering across HR, Finance, and OperationsStrong growth trajectory and long-term career potentialApply today if you're a payroll expert passionate about compliance, process improvement, technology, and building scalable payroll operations.
